Kurtis Dennison serves as the Project Coordinator and Academic Advisor in the International Studies program at WVU. Kurtis spent four years in Rwanda first as a Peace Corps volunteer from 2015-2017 then as a project manager for the Mobile Arts for Peace Project from 2017-2019. In this role, he was responsible for traveling around the country with Rwandan primary and secondary students training teachers in the use of theatre for development techniques. Kurtis holds a Master of Arts (MA) degree from the University of Sussex's Institute for Development Studies where his thesis focused on Rwandan LGBTQ+ Realities. He has published about Rwanda in the Applied Theatre Reader and in Beyond the Heteronorm: Interrogating Critical Alterities.
Kurtis is currently pursuing a PhD from WVU in Sociology.
